Class Description: In this workshop, you will explore the process of designing a piece of furniture. We will begin with sketches and look at different ways to explore 3-dimensional form, including scale models and full scale prototypes. Topics will include proportions, ergonomics, and designing to meet the needs of a particular user. You will leave the class with a small scale model of one of your own designs, along with a process that you can use to develop unique designs in the future. If you are looking to expand the projects you build beyond what you can find in magazines and on the web, this class is for you.
