Class Description: If there is one good thing to be addicted to, woodturning is it! This class is a great introduction to basic woodturning, and in just one short evening, you get to go home with a handsome wooden pen of your own creation. It is said that the lathe is one of the safest tools in a workshop! Learn the basics of turning a pen on a wood lathe using the EasyWood brand of carbide tools. The easy learning curve of these tools makes them a pleasure to work with, especially for beginners that are a little nervous around power tools. You will also learn about stock preparation, the tools themselves, and supplies needed to turn a Slimline pen. We will discuss the parts and operation of a lathe, and safety guidelines to follow while turning. All you need to bring is yourself! All tools and materials will be provided.
