Course Fee: $50 (see below)
Instructor: Allan Tuchman
Class Description:We start with a drawing, downloaded plan, or even a photograph of a part. Bring these into VCarve (or Cut2D or Aspire). Then we create the outline vectors, clean them, up, size to accurate dimension and cut the parts on your CNC router. These vectors may be used for any toolpath, although often it is a profile or pocket.
Who should attend?
- People with some experience using Vectric software (e.g., VCarve, Cut2D, or Aspire)
- CNC woodworkers who would like to work with real-world objects or drawings, to cut out precise shapes from images
- CNC woodworkers who would like additional training working with bitmap to vector conversion, layers, node editing, smoothing, vector creation, clipping, grouping, and transformations.
All CNC Saturday mini-classes are in demonstration/discussion/question format. There will be handout notes covering the material. You may bring your own laptop with Vectric software installed if you would like, but it is not required. Each class is intended to be stand-alone, so you may sign up for only the classes that interest you.
Pre-registration is strongly recommended. You will be notified the day before the class if it is cancelled due to insufficient registration. Prior-student discounts can only be offered for pre-registration. If the class is offered, anyone may register and attend on the day of the class.
