Class Description: This two day class is designed for the woman who want to try turning. It features hands-on practice each day. Class starts on the first day with basic spindle skills and includes at least one simple projects like a mallet or spinning tops. Day Two moves on to faceplate turning resulting in at least one walnut, cherry, or maple bowl or plate. Along the way we spend time learning about tool sharpening and general information about lathes, tools, chucks and various jigs used in woodturning. This is a great way to safely get into woodturning and gives you a good foundation for other more advanced turning classes and projects. Corey Anderson is a woodturner with 23 years of woodturning experience with 14 years teaching experience in woodturning. He previously taught Woodturning for Women at the Connecticut Valley School of Woodworking. He is also a member of the Flatland Woodturners.
